Portmerion liked them and asked us to put them into production. Showing we are willing to consider anything to ensure we keep our customers happy, we decided to specify and purchase a custom-made machine specifically for making jar tops alone.

An octagonal block of steamed beech goes into this machine, around four heads and appears moments later as a perfect jar lid. We have also just developed a new tooling system that keeps costs low for changing to different size jar lids.
